This lesson, i finally finished my assignment. I had finished most of it at home on the weekend because i wasn't sure if i would get what i needed done.
At home i put all my layers together and made sure everything was in the right order. I then saved my final animation as a gif file. I saved the xcf. file again to make sure if something happened i could change it into another gif file and i saved the gf file as well.
When the gif. file had been saved, i played it back to see if i needed to change the speed of each frame/layer, which i did.
The first couple of slides, i tried at 200ms, which was still a little bit fast but was okay and the rest i out at 300ms. I played it all back and thought that it was still a bit fast. So the frames/layers that were 200ms went to 300ms and the frames/layers that were 300ms went to 400ms. When i had done that, i played it back and it was at the right speed, so i saved it.
My finished animation size is 6999KB and it's 109 frames/layes long. I'm not sure how long it goes for but it's over 5 seconds long.

Assignment - Entry Four
This lesson i again worked on my assignment. I was stopped a few times to listen to sir's instrutions but got quite a bit done. I decided that I would draw another green charater and animate him. But i thought i would animate him differently to how i animated my Leprechaun. The idea that i came up with was make the leprechaun start singing a cheer that we sing at school carnivals and get the other green character to repeat it, so it looks like they are doing repeative cheering!
Through the process of making my animation, i saved each frame/or layer as a xcf. file. It's short for eXperimental Computing Facility and is the image format used in gimp. I also aimed for getting to a 100 frames/layers or over and having my animation be 5 seconds long or longer.

Assignment - Entry Three!
When I first started my assignment, I knew what I had to do and what i had to produce by the due date. What i haven't mentioned in my first two entries is the creation process that i went through to figure out what i was going to do.
Sir said in class, that we could do what ever we wanted to do. Use what ever program, out of Gimp or Inkscape. On the board he showed us a couple of ways which we could do our animations, using Inkscape. My first thought was that everyone was going to use Inkscape. My second thought was that maybe using inkscape was going to be the easier and quickest option. So, i went onto Inkscape and started to have a play around with the drawing tools and made a picture (which i didn't save.)
I didn't really like using Inkscape because I, personally, found that it was a bit hard to use. So my third thought was that i should give GImp ago and I did. I found gimp much easier to use and understand.
My next thought was what should i do? I looked at the Coolock flag to see if it would give me any ideas. The main idea that i got was to animate a leprechaun to help promote my house colour. Why a leprechaun? Well Coolock house is the colour green and the emblem on the flag is a shamrock, which is irish. I thought of other irish figures and came up with the leprechaun and decided that, that's what i wanted to animate.
This lesson i continued working on my assignment and got a little bit further in the process.

Assignment - Entry Two!
Today i continued working on my animation. I animated my Leprechaun and added little touches to it to make it look more like a leprechaun.
I've decided that i'm not going to do anything with the coolock flag or emblem. I thought it would be best just to stay with the leprechaun and animate him. Maybe even animate another green character and get the two characters to do a cheer, as a way of promoting my house colour.
I finished what I needed to have done and I saved my animation just as a gimp image. I'm not going to turn my animation into a GIF. until all my editing is done and i don't need to do anything else but change the amount of time a layer stays on the screen.

Assignment - Entry one!
Last lesson, I started working on my animation. The first thing I did, was draw a Leprechaun on Gimp. I choose the program Gimp because I find that out of the two (Gimp and Inkscape), Gimp is the program i find easiest to use. I saved a copy, so that if something was to happen to my animation, I could do it again, without having to re-draw my leprechaun. I copied my leprechaun, in three parts, and pasted the parts on another Gimp page. After I pasted them onto Gimp, I started to animate my Leprechaun. I moved the hand up and down first, a couple of times, and then I made him speck.
This is as far as I got this lesson. Next lesson, or the next time I work on my animation, I want to do something with the Coolock emblem and shamrock. When i finished for the lesson, i saved my animation so far, just as a gimp image.

ASSESSMENT - T1
At the beginning of todays lesson, we were given our assignments. The assignment allows us to make a animation using gimp or Inkskape. I have not yet decided what program I am going to use or how I am going to do my Animation.
I have thought about a couple of ideas.
1. Draw a Leprechaun
2. Animate the Coolock flag
3. Have a group of kids - stick figure - dance and cheer for Coolock
I have not yet decided out of these. I may do two of them together
